This blog is dedicated to my late Mother, who survived Cancer for nearly eleven years...She is still the inspiration for all that I do!

One minute high...the next minute low
Well...nobody knows where we are in this crazy blur of life. It might look like a lot of fun...having all these chickens. I think I'm going to start taking pictures of the stuff that goes with it. Today, this mother went crazy and started kicking the cage they sleep in. By the time I found them, two of these chicks were dead, one of them has a bad flesh wound, one of them has a dislocated hip, and one is limping badly but was well enough to go back out with mama. There will be lots of recovery time involved. It's okay...I just hope they can make it. They certainly couldn't have seen it coming and they definitely didn't deserve it. But Nature has a different Law. It's called survival. What nobody can appreciate, is how fragile the warm, dead body of a baby chicken actually is...I'm not sure a camera can capture it. But it is real and very humbling to endure. This is why my chickens mean so much to me!!!
