Friday Morning Light(?)...AND windy!

Friday's are great...but nothing goes good with a bunch of freezing wind. So it started out cold and ugly. The chickens sure didn't like it. They all went under the porch...and under there, space gets a little tight. Something went wrong and suddenly there was a bunch of racket and clucking and thumping and banging...these are the unmistakable sounds of the 'barnyard pecking order' being played out. I was lucky...I got there early...only a little blood. Most of the time there is plenty of space and 'women' for the roosters to not have to get extreme about it. But it's different under the porch. If I hadn't gotten there in time, Tuffy would have killed one of his cousins. I put the 'Condemned' one in an enclosed area at least until the wind dies down. If they can't get along, I will have to get rid of the young one...or he will die a valiant death here in paradise.
So..."good morning" from Rancho Giro.
the sun and the wind both came from the east

tailfeathers left or tailfeathers right...it's gonna be one of those days

I hope they don't break...they've never been bent that far before

The Condemned one sharing his 'last' meal...don't worry, he's alive

no wind in here

Some minor bleeding and bruising PLUS...

...a hole in the beak...
the 'Killer" at breakfast before the incident
