Master Po???

Master Po was a regular character from Kung Fu. He was the old blind man that gave Kwai Chang the nickname 'Grasshopper'. Well, yesterday I discovered this little guy(?) running around with his mama. He is blind in his left eye. I don't think it was ever normal. I just never noticed him...
Do not fear. He would have already been dead by Nature's Law...but I am going to keep him alive and then maybe I can find a safe home for him.

Who is Kwai Chang?

I love the 1972 TV show Kung Fu starring David Carradine as Kwai Chang Caine. I love the character Kwai Chang. That's why I borrowed the name. If you've ever seen the show, then you should be familiar with the 'Wanted Poster'. For three seasons, David's 'stunt liaison' (stuntman/double) was Greg Walker. I was lucky enough to meet Greg through a mutual friend and we've been friends ever since. He no longer lives in California, but he always visits when he's close by. One day, he stopped by to give me a copy of the wanted poster that he kept from the show. It is my prized possession. Then, he asked if he could take some pictures of the chickens. I had been trying to get some good pictures of KiKi all along...well, Greg grabbed his camera turned it on and went 'click' and took the absolute best picture of KiKiRi ever. It is my favorite picture and the one that I am trying to re-capture with my other roosters. So, Greg Walker and Kwai Chang Caine are both inspirations that make up who I am. Thanks, Grasshopper!!!

No Pictures Today...

It's a little hectic around here. There's an injured baby chick that we are taking care of...AND it's my wife's birthday. No pictures today...sorry!

A Sad Update...

A third baby chick has died from injuries suffered during this morning's chaos. It has been a strange day. All of the chickens were in a very unnatural mood. Their behavior was agitated and aggressive. After the first hen went crazy, there was a violent and bloody confrontation between two other mothers...no chicks were hurt. But, one of the mothers was "dead" with her feet in the air. I picked her up and she opened her eyes. Her face was very bloody. The other hen was already rounding up her babies...but she was also hurt...but not as bad. I sure hope tomorrow is more peaceful than today.

This morning was overcast and heartbreaking...

It was very ugly this morning...but, Gallos Giros cannot be stopped. They keep going and going and going....no batteries,  but a few bunnies. Energize me...Rancho Giro! All pics are from this morning.
