Actually, they won't be sleeping with her very much longer. These pictures were taken on their last night together. She had already 'abandoned' them two days earlier. But, they were allowed to sleep with her for two more nights. Anyway, she is a great mom and has let them stay with her for a generous amount of time. Many mothers cut the cord much earlier. The funny thing is that this hen stole the nest from two other hens...none of these babies are really her chicks! It doesn't really matter...The connection is for real!
