Yesterday proved it. There was a red racer(Coachwhip) in the house. It was a miracle that I was able to catch it and put it outside. It was at least 48" long. Then, in the afternoon, the second visitor showed up...he was a 36" Pacific Rattlesnake out near the chicken coop. I took it to a safe place. This year has been a very active one for snakes. In the last two weeks, I have seen/caught 15 snakes. That's more than normal...
