Roosters, royalty and another king

All the animals live like kings around here...
Yesterday, we had a real king stop by. It was a beautiful California Kingsnake crawling around the chicken coop. He was not here for chickens. He was here for mice and small lizards. The Kingsnake is the nemesis of the local rattlesnakes. He is immune to their venom and will usually kill and eat any rattler smaller than himself. It is incredible! Especially, when you consider how soft and gentle kingsnakes really are.
Could it be that real strength is gentleness?
It is worth considering.
All hail the King...
Come back, anytime!
