What is the point?

Why would anyone want the extra work that goes with these birds? They all have needs that must be addressed. Why do we want such grief? What is the reward?
The reward is finding out that animals can teach people the right way to be. They are always ready to meet the day head on...and somehow this allows them to enjoy it to the fullest...there are no stragglers. From the word 'go', these birds are enjoying everything as if for the first time. I think I'm jealous.
