it gets real easy to overlook some of the little things.
The daily routines and the unpredictable chaos almost guarantees that a mother with only one baby chick will go unnoticed most of the time. It's not because we don't appreciate what she is...it's just that she is a dedicated, great mother and she does her job very well. Most likely, she won't need anything special until one day...everybody will say "have you seen that beautiful little rooster? Where did he come from?"
That's about all of the gratitude she will receive. But, that won't matter...because the beautiful little rooster is her baby.
