Evan Almighty

He's no Ark builder...he is Evan, the white rooster. He is so beautiful. He is going to look like his grandfather, KiKiRi...
Gallo Giro...numero uno.
He is starting to become an adult. Soon, there will be romance...
fatherhood, and competition from the other roosters. I think he will be one of the best...
Evan...almighty? Well, alrighty?

Back on the bike

I am still sad about the loss of my black hen, Indigo. But, since she died, there has been other unbelievable tragedy. I accidently left a cage door open. A baby chick went into the cage with another mother and her baby. The other mother freaked out and tried to kill it. The injuries are gruesome, but mostly superficial...he lost some skin on the back of his head and neck. But, he is not injured internally, he can walk, he is trying to eat, but it will be real slow healing. So, that's what's happening. And some eggs are hatching along with all this:

Heartbreak Galore...

Well, you never know when it will happen. I just got this beautiful black hen about three weeks ago. I had named her Indigo because she was so black that she was actually blue. Well, she was very precious. She was so friendly. She fit right in around here. Yesterday, she got killed. I think it was a coyote. I noticed she was missing around 1:00. An hour later, I started looking in all the places she had been lately. I finally found a pile of black(blue) feathers around 6:00pm. If you want to love animals the way I do...You better get used to heartache because the two go together. I am so sad. She left some eggs behind. Maybe they will hatch...She deserves some legacy.
Here are the first and last pictures of her with a couple of others in the middle:

Remembering The Freedom Fighters

Memorial Day...
Nothing symbolizes Freedom like a Gallo Giro.
Always a warrior...ready to die for the right.
Yes, freedom is worth fighting for...
and those who fight are worth remembering.
