I think it's time to check out the women...
Although the roosters get most of the camera time, the hens are just as beautiful and they play a role that often gets overlooked. That role is the one of "inspiration". Without a hen, a rooster won't 'sing'. He will just get angrier and angrier in his longing for companionship. That's how it is in life. Loneliness is nothing to sing about.... Compassionate souls thirst for companionship...bring in the hens!!!

Happy Birthday, Pretty Little Chick
It's not about another year passing you by...
Birthday's are about being a parent...
AND, about being loved by a parent.
Nothing is better than having a Mother that loves you...
A Mother never counts years...only loved ones.
We have had a bunch of loving Mothers show up in the last few days...
Here's why it's so great:

A small price to pay...the blog must stay
To keep the blog...
or let it go...
That's not really a decision.
I just love the blog so much that I could not bring myself to let it die. I want the whole world to see how beautiful my roosters are. The chickens have been going strong and so many things have happened in the last few days...much of it heartbreaking. I won't go into that sadness because it was too great...and we also have the cycle of life starting over again...there are three mothers with freshly hatched baby chicks. I have also thinned the rooster population. There was too much fighting and it was affecting the relaxed atmosphere that we are used to...so, I was really lucky to find homes for ten roosters. All of them went to local ranches.
I'm just hoping that we are finally back on track with the blog...
Thanks for being patient...

Stretching time taking space
Time is elastic...and it evaporates so quickly...
But, it can be bought
So, trying to pour more time into a funnel...
it's not that easy to do...
or just pour some money into a google.
It's just another extortion moment in a ransom note world!
I really miss not having the blog to share my pictures...
Maybe I can buy some protection...
(Hey, Louie...
gimme da minimum)
Bring back the Roosters Of RanchoGiro...

Flap Your Wings (And a new big bummer)
You can't really grasp the amount of pride that comes off of a rooster in a single camera snapshot...but, on the other hand...in sequenced photos, it is much easier to see. It seems like a rooster will crow twenty times(approximately) and then beat his wings as hard as he can for as long as ten seconds. Some days, the 'noise' never stops...Anyway, I love rooster noise. It's pure music!
(This is where the pictures would normally be):
I was uploading the photos and I got a notice from Google that I have run out of free space...I am going to investigate. I think they want money. That will not be happening. I am poor. If I have to close that blog and start over I will. Anyway, there were some great wing flapping sequences that I wanted to share. Happy Thanksgiving, anyway...I hope to be back soon.
I will let you know as soon as possible!
Please, forgive this unfortunate eventuality.
It was unforeseen...or I would have posted less photos, or I would have cropped them...or I don't know what...(sorry, Mom)

Not only roosters
Around here, we love all animals...not just roosters. This is my friend, Saul. He is helping me learn about roosters. He has a lot more experience than I do. Today, he brought one of his horses to show me. I knew he had horses, but I didn't know how beautiful they are. He gave me a demonstration...this horse can dance and prance with the best of them. It can walk backwards, sideways, in circles...all on command. Nice work, Saul...Salud!

wet again
It's still wet outside...but we need more rain. The chickens want more rain too. They have a better selection of food when it rains...more plants and lots of insects. I sure hope they get their wish. They look more beautiful when they eat good.

Jet update
His name is Jet and he still doesn't like the camera. He still looks like a rooster...But he's not as black as he used to be! Jet is showing all kinds of potential. Since his heritage is different than most of the other chickens, he will make the gene pool even more diverse. This is always a good thing. We are anxiously awaiting his adulthood!
