Who could resist?

Finally! Some beautiful babies.
The hens have been very unlucky the past few months. Many clutches of eggs were ruined by intruders, temperature, fights, forgetfulness and many other reasons. So, let's hope that this is the beginning of all the greatness to come. These three baby chicks are super fine. They are 1 day old in the pictures.

Blur, blink, 50 years

It was 50 years ago tonight that the U.S. welcomed The Beatles on their first Ed Sullivan Show appearance. The country took a hard turn that night and the direction came as close to Freedom as it ever has. The Beatles coming to this country is the biggest event in our country's history...ever. And, then ...blink, blink...
50 years has passed.
Thanks to The Beatles, it was a painless blur that couldn't be stopped. Their music is a time machine and the real fountain of youth.
The Beatles are roosters with guitars instead of feathers.
Blur, blur, blur

What's a weekend?

Well, the rooster repair continues. I doubt that there will be anything restful about my weekend. The good news is that all injured warriors will survive. Normally, we are not so fortunate.
Have a nice weekend...Remain hopeful!
Things are sometimes better than they seem!

Looking Ragged...Feeling Alive

As we know, Roosters look ragged after just one fight.
They never get the new look to come back...
That's called paying the price...
or, some would say an expensive lesson.
I don't know how the tattered look is supposed to compliment the Sunrise...but, I will stick with them and see if I can learn anything.

Not Allowed In The Superbowl

Roosters don't need SuperBowls.
They live out their entire adulthood
on a gridiron of fierceness.
They are true to their instincts.
The instincts say "You are a Champion...always".
Yesterday was just another day...for another Champion.
This guy got the worst of it. Amazingly, the fight was over when I found him standing with his hens...both eyes swollen shut.
Incredible is the spirit of a rooster.
He plays the SuperGame of Life...everyday!

Another Super Sunrise

Super Bowl is really not that super...
when the sunrise looks like it did today...
there is just no comparison.
"No flag on the play...
first down!"

Super what? Without Roosters?

It's not just game time...but, it's the biggest tv event of the year!
I don't know what the SuperBowl is for.
The playoffs ended more than a month ago.
Well, the roosters got tired of waiting for the kickoff.
I've had bloody rooster battles for the last three days.
I've been lucky. The damage was not severe and there were no deaths. I guess it's been building up. There were no repeat fighters. Usually, I clean them up and give what ever Rx they need. Then, it's solitary confinement to sleep off the bruises. A day later I let them out and make sure they don't 'rekindle' the fire...that usually puts it in the past forever...
except...
a rooster that has been in a fight never looks as good as he did before the fight...ever, again!
Here's a couple of this week's fighters...
The NFL is too anti-septic for this kind of warrior!
