Down but not out

I haven't been well. But, the chickens are still doing great. These pictures are from the other day, but maybe this afternoon I will feel good enough to get some new pictures.  Although, these pictures aren't too bad...

There's a hen under there...somewhere

She probably never saw it coming...
then everything got dark...
And then she screamed...and the lights came on again
and all of her feathers were ruffled...
(It was a rooster)

In the afternoon...

The sun is setting lower in the sky now and it makes the afternoons really colorful. These are from two days ago. I think the birds look different in the afternoon. They are more relaxed and a little tired. And beautiful as always.

Heartbreak: Another kind...

A great picture is the result of hundreds of shots like these...
Some call them 'missed shots'. I call it kodachrome heartbreak. They are all so...heartbreaking...in beautiful, perfect color.

Wild and Free is what they are...

My roosters are the finest I've seen. But, that is because they are wild and free. In the beginning, I kept them in a chicken coop constantly. But they were never this beautiful. When they are free to roam, survival is the only thing...and that starts with staying healthy and beautiful. They are much better now than they were then.

Lazy Sunday...Afternoon

What is laziness?
Is it permanent?
I took pictures this morning and then...
I got lazy again.
So, I just woke up(2:00pm)
and, hopefully I'm cured...
(hopefully, it's still Sunday...and not Monday)

I'm Lazy

If you want honesty,
then be prepared for the Truth.
I am too lazy to take pictures right now.
It's probably best if I do some power-lounging, instead...
I sure don't want to start the week-end on a bad note!
